El Clasico

Real Madrid have themselves to be blamed with their performance at Bernabeu was simply appalling.. Jose Mourinho have shown again he is not a great manager but a manager that plays his team against the opposition his team faces. He sets them to not concede goals against Barcelona in the First Leg of the UEFA Champions League which is not a clear sign that he wanted to have a go against Barcelona; much annoyance can be seen when Christiano Ronaldo were incensed that his team-mates didn't close down Barcelona players as they happily kick the ball around their own half with Real Madrid happy to let them do so (probably under the instruction of Jose).

There weren't any flashpoint or unruly incidents in the first 30 minutes of the match but things get chippy at the 40 minutes where some incidents start to unravel with Alvaro Arbeloa challenge of Pedro Rodriguez which was unnoticed but was spotted by the linesman which informed the German referee Wolfgang Stark.

There was a free-4-all between Real Madrid and Barcelona players as they entered the tunnel that resulted in Barcelona reserve goal keeper Pinto in receiving a red card without even playing in a game.

Things get interesting in the second half when Sergio Ramos was yellow carded for pulling down Lionel Messi, a silly thing to do when his team-mate was covering Messi's run which will rule him out of the return leg 5 days time at Nou Camp.

the next thing Real Madrid want to see was a Red Card and if its a match between Madrid & Barcelona; its like a necessity with Pepe studs showing challenge on Dani Alves which made the Real Madrid bench incensed particularly Jose Mourinho. His tirade against the fourth official gave him the marching orders to the sidelines but the standard sidelines is just beside the Real Madrid's bench. (how pathetic is the sidelines in a UEFA Champions League match mind you)

Marcelo was lucky to avoid a yellow for an unnoticed stamp on Pedro Rodriguez calf muscle but UEFA disciplinary board might review the tapes and hand out its own judgement.

Then the 10 men of Real Madrid which set up to not concede a goal conceded a goal where Messi connect with a splendid shot that go through the legs of Iker Cassilas (Iker could have done better with the shot) but who cares when Real Madrid are 10 men down against a team like Barcelona.

Things take for the worst when Adebayor was lucky to be still on the pitch when he manhandled Ibrahim Afellay in the face; his challenge was even worst then Pepe but Adebayor was saved with a yellow card.

All in all, Barcelona deserved the win no matter how sore a loser is Real Madrid are but with Kaka, Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema in the bench; how can they not do more.

Simple, Jose Mourinho have much to do and I bet he'll be watching the match from the stands and there will be no communications from him in the Directors box to his bench.

Barcelona is in the driving force to be in the UEFA Finals at Wembley Stadium.
