Mission Trip: Day 2 & 3

Today I'll be writing about Day 2 and also Day 3 as I have skipped a few days of not writing on my blog.

Day 2

In the morning before Sunday Service, the team prepared to attend to Sunday Service at Castillejos Christian Church outside the vicinity of Jireh Children's Home but not before we had breakfast at Pastor Joel's house again.

It was like a normal Sunday Service is held but today was more special as there was a Carolling presentation by the church choir who sang some Christmas Carols. Lead Pastor of my church Uncle Christopher Leong shared the word of God and I shared my testimony to the congregation. I was so nervous as that was the first time I shared on how I became a believer and I stuttered and wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked.

Aren't I stiff? XD
After Sunday Service, We took a group photo and Pastor Joel showed the team what are his plans for Hannel Christian Academy. In the afternoon, Brother Mun Wai, Me and Emily Chan had a youth fellowship with the Youth of Castillejos Christian Church; Where Brother Mun Wai shared a short video clip. I shared my testimony on how God provided for my trip while Emily also shared her testimony. It was great to listen to some of the Youth of Castillejos Christian Church sharing on what has happened and why they are in Jireh Children's Home which is simply awesome.

Miss Yoke Kheng and Sister Jocel were in the chapel for their Female Fellowship where Sister Jocel shared her testimony in Tagalog and she also shared two recipe (one is Pizza and the other is Chocolate Cake)

then It was dinner and the food is always nice :D. Before the end of the day, the team gather and have a de-brief of the whole day experience. Then we slept.

Day 3

The day always starts with breakfast @ Pastor Joel and Sister Rachel house where the food is splendid (You get my point if you saw the Facebook album here)

Then Pastor Joel took the team to Jessmag to see the people that the Malaysian Philippines Mission Partnership (MPMP) sponsors where we meet with the people in Jessmag. The Journey to the place was rocky but it was a pleasant to see the sight of the beautiful mountains in Jessmag.

Beautiful Scenery in Jessmag.

Then we travel from Jessmag to Moraza Church where we had fellowship and had lunch.

Then Pastor Chris, Brother Mun Wai, Brother William Yeong, Sister Jocel and Miss Yoke Kheng had a meeting with 4 AETA workers which MPMP sponsors where they relate their problems and also voice their concerns. (AETA people are like the Orang Asli in Malaysia - They are the original inhabitant of Philippines but they are very poor)

A very intense and thoughtful meeting (I slept while the meeting was on)

Emily and I wondered about the Moraza Church as we weren't a part of MPMP, the area is nice and beautiful. Though I admit I was awake for the first 30 minute but dozed off as I lacked sleep for the past few days.

After the meeting, Pastor Chris gave the four workers which the MPMP support some Christmas bonuses.

We then proceeded to the chicken poultry farm on the way back to Jireh Children Home after the visit to Jessmag and Moraza. Too bad there weren't any chicks to be harvested as they just harvested the chicks.

After returning home to Jireh Children Home, we had a fellowship dinner with the kids of Jireh Home and also to celebrate Pastor Joel's Birthday which falls on the first day we arrived in Philippines.

The kids of the Jireh Home who performed for us have only like a few month as they only started out in October 2011. Not all the kids can perform as the equipment played is very limited. The kids are so talented and great when they performed Happy Birthday in the guitar which has 12 strings (not to sure of the name of the guitar).

We had a great time with the kids and here are some of the other pictures of Day 3.
